Finishing of hammam with mosaic

Mosaic installation to the walls and a vault of hammam is presented to be a rather labor-intensive process requiring maximum attention, professional knowledge and experience from the executor. Mosaic laying is usually performed by the most popular matrix method – in a factory all the mosaic plates are glued to a paper or a grid base and a tiler lays out the sheets on pre-prepared base assembling a composition.

The process of cladding by matrix method is extremely painstaking because mosaic reveals all defects of the surface. A tiler must prepare the surface thoroughly having made it flat and smooth. At the same time the master must perform a laying of marble mosaic in such a way that a distance between matrix sheets matches up to a millimeter with a seam thickness between mosaic chips. Otherwise the integrity of the composition is lost.
